Baqueira Beret Expects Best Start to Season in Years

The arrival of strong storms from the north starting on Thursday 20 and a final week of November with heavy precipitation will allow the resort to open on Saturday 29 (conditions permitting), with 40 slopes totalling 54 km of runs distributed among the areas of Baqueira, Beret, and Bonaigua. There hasn’t been such a good start to the season since the 2019-2020 season, when snowfalls of up to 90 cm allowed almost the entire resort to be opened on the last weekend of November. Snowfall is expected to continue in the coming days, so the data will be updated on the resort’s channels. Baqueira Beret’s services are ready to go for the start of the season, including BaqueiraPASS top-ups for the most forward-thinking skiers.

The countdown to the start of the 2025-2026 winter season in Baqueira Beret has begun with the arrival of very heavy snowfall. The resort at Val d’Aran and Valls d’Àneu has received storms from the north over the course of a week, with temperatures at Cap de Baqueira reaching -15ºC, and others from the northwest and some from the south that have left significant snow depths of varying qualities. The severe cold for much of the week has also allowed for snowmaking, ensuring the opening of the main slopes at the resort.

The first significant snowfalls arrived on Wednesday, 20 November and intensified from Friday onwards, with between 30 cm (at 1800 m) and 40 cm (at 2500 m) of accumulated snow recorded. Over the weekend and on both Monday and Tuesday, intermittent snowfall and the work of the slope teams have consolidated these snow depths, while forecasts point to more snowfall over the coming days, therefore the forecasts on the resort’s channels will be updated.

The resort is expected to open next Saturday 29 November with access to three areas: Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua. 17 ski lifts will be operating to access the slopes. In Baqueira, 12 of the 13 existing ski lifts will be operational; in Bonaigua, the detachable chairlift of the same name and the chairlifts at Teso Dera Mina and Solei will be operating. Finally, in Beret, the Dera Reina and Jesús Serra detachable chairlifts will also be up and running.

After the weekend, the plan is to continue working to open more skiable terrain (conditions permitting), in order to offer skiers and snowboarders the maximum possible skiable area on Saturday 6 December.

The Moët Winter Lounge, Free Flow Bosque, Cinco Jotas Grill restaurant, and the Baqueira Bar 1500 will all be operational in Baqueira from 29 November. In Beret, Bar Audeth will be open, and at the other end of the resort, Bar Bonaigua will be open. The Häagen-Dazs café will also be open in the Ruda Shopping Centre.

For the most forward-thinking enthusiasts, topping up the seasonal BaqueiraPASS can now be done online at the resort’s website and also on the mobile app. This system allows pass holders to manage and top up their passes, as well as those of family members and friends, in a convenient and practical way.

The Baqueira Beret travel agency is already offering accommodation and packages that combine the best experience with the usual high quality and guarantee of the winter resort, so users can now book their first getaways or their Christmas holidays on its website.
