A Crazy Spring Ski Race

The Fine-Cup – Mémorial Martin Perrier will return to Avoriaz for its fifth edition on April 12th. Organized by La Fine-Équipe in memory of Martin Perrier, this unique soapbox race invites teams of three to compete in creative, costumed contraptions.

Martin Perrier was a young Morzine man with a passion for skiing, who tragically passed away in 2018 following a motorbike accident. A qualified instructor with the Morzine ESF, he was driven by a love of skiing, sharing and celebrating.

To pay tribute to him, his friends created the Fine Cup. More than just a race, this day has become a not-to-be-missed event combining a spirit of competition, conviviality and creativity. Every year, it brings together riders and enthusiasts in a crazy atmosphere that reflects Martin’s personality.

This year, the race takes place on the blue track near the Tête aux Boeufs stadium, featuring a small boardercross format to enhance the descent and fuel participants’ imaginations. From boats to wheelbarrows and stretchers—anything that slides is fair game!

Spectators can enjoy an afternoon of festivities at the race’s base, with music from a DJ, a refreshment stand, and light catering.
