A nod from the dish pig as you swipe your café plate, a wave from the lifty as you bound onto the chairlift, or the distant hum of a piste basher shaping fresh corduroy before dawn. And yet…we rarely remember their names. That’s what stings most. These are the people who make our ski holidays feel seamless—and without them? Absolutely nothing would work.
Every winter season, families, couples, and solo adventurers drag their board or ski bags through frosty air, eager for adrenaline and powder. But the magic behind that perfect run? It’s crafted by countless cogs in a huge operation—real hands, real people, often working long hours for modest pay, and commonly, with no recognition.
Chalet hosts, bartenders, and ski instructors might receive thanks daily. Their faces are front and centre, their warmth felt by guests face-to-face. But what about the lift operators, clued‑on yet invisible, the steely dish pigs washing up after busy service, or the nighttime piste bashers, quietly grooming the mountain before we wake?
That’s why we’re teaming up with real-life seasonaires to celebrate these unsung heroes. We want to bring them out from behind the scenes and into the spotlight they deserve. Because frankly? They’re amazing—and we find their stories utterly fascinating.
